Urban design and masterplanning at the scale of the city.

We work between the scale of the individual building and the territory: neighbourhoods, development areas, waterfronts, historic centres and public-space networks. Our role is to translate a strategic vision into a coherent, viable and communicable spatial framework across Spain, Sweden and Greece.

Spatial strategy for places that must evolve over time.

  1. Masterplanning & spatial strategyDefinition of the spatial vision, strategic zoning, densities, development capacity and phasing for large sites and districts.
  2. Urban regenerationRevitalisation of underused or degraded urban fabric, including industrial areas, historic centres, peripheral sites and heritage assets.
  3. Public space designSquares, green corridors, streets, waterfronts and civic axes designed to support movement, social life, commercial activation and resilience.
  4. Mobility & movementAnalysis of pedestrian, cycling, public-transport and vehicle flows, with clear street hierarchy and sustainable mobility principles.
  5. Land use & stakeholder communicationAssessment of uses and development potential, supported by clear material for authorities, investors, communities and public consultation.

Our approach

From territorial analysis to an adaptable masterplan. We begin by reading the territory: its history, street structure, existing uses, movement patterns, environmental conditions and heritage value. From that evidence we define a strategic vision, development objectives and the spatial principles that must remain consistent as the project evolves. The masterplan then coordinates zoning, density, public-space networks, mobility and phasing, a flexible framework within which each building, landscape and investment decision can develop over time.

Frequently asked questions

What does an urban development masterplan include?

A typical masterplan includes an analysis of the territory and its constraints, a strategic vision and development objectives, a zoning plan with uses and densities, a public space network, a mobility strategy, a phasing plan and an economic and social impact assessment. The depth of each component varies according to the scope and scale of the commission.

Do you work with local councils and public bodies?

Yes. We work with both public administrations and private developers working on urban-scale projects. For public bodies we adapt our working processes to include public consultation, interdepartmental coordination and documentation for administrative processing.

What is the difference between urban design and urban planning?

Urban design in the architectural sense is the design of urban form: how spaces are organised, how buildings relate to the street, how public space functions. Urban planning is the legal and regulatory framework governing land use. We work in both dimensions, integrating design sensibility with knowledge of current regulations.
